The objective of this work is to utilize PMU measurements from the grid to validate simulation results and monitor the dynamic performance of the system. The project comprises two major tasks. Its first goal is to utilize system-wide PMU measurements from disturbances or tests to perform system-level validation of dynamic models used in BPA systems. Its second goal is to develop automated tools for automatic dynamic performance monitoring of synchronous generators, wind farms, and other control devices by combining PMU responses from major events with model-based simulations.
