Professor Emeritus, Electrical and Computer Engineering
Sc.D., Massachusetts Institute of Technology, 1963

Professor Huang is co-chair of the Human-Computer Intelligent Interaction Laboratory. The main research theme of the lab is to enhance human-machine interface design through the optimization of state-of-the-art technology development and engineering of multimodal interface design concepts.

Improving the human-computer interface provides many benefits for the design of trustworthy and reliable systems. Vision- and image-based techniques will play a key role in most human-computer intelligent interaction scenarios, such as in collaborative manufacturing product prototyping in a virtual environment, thus making the interaction between people and virtual environments more natural and efficient.
