Daniel Chen, who obtained a M.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, is currently employed as a research programmer at the Information Trust Institute. He is working on projects related to the security and reliability of the next generation energy delivery systems. These include the development of tools and testbed for experimental validation of system/application resiliency against errors and attacks. It also includes studying possible attack vectors such as malware, insiders and hackers and their potential impact on the safe operation of the underlying physical processes. He also works on the validation of cyber incident detection and response mechanisms.
