Profile Photo
Professor, Computer Science
University of Minnesota Ph.D. in Computer Science 2002

Prof. Bailey's research focuses on developing and evaluating effective interactive software tools by utilizing a science-oriented, multidisciplinary process. He leverages models and theories from non-engineering disciplines such as cognitive and social psychology, applies established engineering principles to develop the software, and employs a variety of data collection and statistical techniques to evaluate hypotheses by means of the tools. Once refined, the tools are disseminated to the research community. This process has been followed in developing tools for attentional interfaces, the early stages of design, pervasive computing, and multimedia storytelling.
