With the opening of Ameren Illinois' new smart grid Technology Applications Center at the University of Illinois a little over a month ago, budding entrepreneurs now have a live grid on which to test ideas.

ITI researcher William H. Sanders, interim dean of electrical and computer engineering at Illinois, talks to the Illinois Business Journal about how the new center provides Illinois engineers with the opportunity to test out research in a public utility environment. Read more.
